A Desire for Spring

Acryl on canvas, 120 cm | 100 cm

When I was a child my parents used to own a gigantic garden right by the side of the small river “Aland” in the Altmark. The children and I were always picking flowers there when spring had arrived – and during autumn we searched for the nuts of the great old walnut tree. The most beautiful was an beautiful and big apple tree. I loved it so dearly watching it bloom in spring. My father always had to lift me up so I would be able to smell the sweet scent of the flowers. Later the garden was sold – now it contains construction machinery. “A Desire for Spring” is an hommage to my sacred childhood garden.
